Sri Lanka’s only flagship industrial port with integrated zones: commodity processing & blending, value addition, finishing & packing, warehousing, distribution and its own utilities. Entire port operation will be energy independent with vertically integrated Co-Generation Plant, Refinery and Tank Farm (crude oil, petroleum derivates, LNG and LPG).
Stand alone, dry & wet bulk cargo terminals complete with drydocks, anchorage with 20m draft. Terminals will act as the feeder port to the Colombo Megapolis. Tank farm would consist of bonded tanks, merchant tanks, strategic tanks, buffer stock tanks, forward contract tanks, leased tanks and ticketed tanks. Vision is to establish forward strategic energy reserves based on sovereign ticketing system based on the commodity trading platform and create transnational, harmonised electricity trading platform as an essential component of BIMSTEC Exchange.
